Dr. Brandi Buckner

Dr. Brandi Buckner is a Licensed Professional Counselor/Approved Supervisor, Registered Play Therapist/Approved Supervisor, National Board of Certified Counselors and Certified Imago (Marriage) Relationship Therapist.

She obtained Bachelor's Degree from Texas Tech, and her Ph.D. and Master's Degree from the University of North Texas (UNT) in Counseling. Part of her experience at UNT included supervision of Ph.D. and Master's level students as Assistant to the Director of the UNT Counseling and Human Development Center. Her UNT training internship at the Child and Family Resource Clinic focused on counseling as well as testing both children and adults.

She served on the Texas LPC board for 7 years, appointed by The Governor of Texas, as co-chair of the board applications committee, supervision committee, and member of the complaints committee. She has also served as Adjunct Professor at Tarleton University in Stephenville and the University of North Texas.

With over 34 years of experience, Dr. Buckner's private practice in Weatherford, TX includes children, individuals, couples, and families. She was a Registered Play therapist for over 30 years. She works with children in a non-threatening manner using toys, games, books, and the child's imagination.

As a professional speaker, Dr. Buckner has presented at national and international conferences on subjects such as:

  • "Parents Don't Divorce Children"
  • "Psycho-Social Development and Adlerian Therapy"
Her research on divorcing parents has been reported in The Texas Lawyer, Sesame Street Magazine for Parents, and Education Today.
